Ed

I joined the Big Stone team as Sales Manager in May 2012, having worked in the industry, on both sides of the fence, for the last 14 years.  Initially moving to Sheffield from Doncaster in 1995 to attend University, I decided some time ago that it was where I wanted to be based. Living on the edge of the Peak District has meant that over the years I have been able to make the most of my “free time”.

I’ve been a super keen mountain biker for years from the days when 80mm of suspension was classed as a downhill bike. During that time I must have tried nearly every discipline from XC to Downhill to BMX.

I have also been snowboarding now for over 16 years and have ridden extensively throughout Europe and of course the Sheffield Ski Village. Not one for the park but I’m always up for a solid mountain day.

Although spending a lot of those early years in Sheffield, climbing, I have not managed to get out for a while now. I keep saying I’ll start again but the bike is always calling………………..

Favorite 5.10 Product

  • Impact Low – an all time classic, super grippy for when you’re going ‘Mach 10 with your hair on fire’.
  • Freerider VXi (2013 new shoe) - ssshhhhh don’t tell anyone I’m using the sample.

Favorite Arc’teryx Product

  • Beta AR Jacket – Super durable ‘all round’ shell. I’ve owned a couple of different generations over the years and they have certainly been abused, using them for everything from snowboarding to dry stone wall building to ice climbing and the face fabric could still be passed off as almost new in a shop.
  • Blade 24/30 – This bag contains my working life and the larger size 30 has been perfect for nights away on the road. It has also now become my pack for commuting to work on the bike.
